SeaQuest partners with community based organizations in the areas we operate to ensure that we do our part to support local needs. SeaQuest Cares supports a variety of causes throughout the year.
We partner with organizations that uphold our commitment to support children’s programs. Several of the programs we hold dear include those that provide better homes for children through foster parent programs, as well as efforts that benefit children who are ill or who have disabilities.
We partner with school districts and Educational efforts like backpack drives, school night out fundraisers and with discounts on field trips for Title 1 schools.
United Blood Services
In the fall of 2017, SeaQuest partnered with United Blood Services of Las Vegas to host a blood drive. The people of Las Vegas were eager to help in this important effort and showed their support by donating in record numbers to help supply local hospitals.
Those who donated blood had no idea how soon their contributions would be needed. The horrible shooting incident on the Las Vegas strip occurred one week after the SeaQuest blood drive. According to United Blood Services, all of the blood donations collected during our event went immediately to support those who were injured in the incident.
Backpacks 4 Class Acts
We believe that all children deserve a quality education, however we understand that not every family can afford to provide their children with new school supplies every year. To help support families needing assistance, SeaQuest partnered with KLUC 98.5 FM Las Vegas in their Backpacks 4 Class Acts donation drive.
Clark County School District is the 5th largest school district in the nation and there are plenty of children in need. We invited members of our community to gather new backpacks and fill them with as many school supplies as possible. For every donation, SeaQuest offered an aquarium day pass to the person donating as well as the child receiving a backpack. More than 600 donations were collected in a single backpack drive! All donations went to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Foster Children Programs
Many children in foster care don’t get the opportunity to enjoy the typical childhood experiences that other children have. The SeaQuest Cares foster initiative helps foster families treat the children in their care to a fun, educational experience that they will remember for years to come.
Foster children are always welcome, free of charge, to any SeaQuest location year-round. Studies show that just a few hours of animal interaction can have a significant positive impact on children. Part of our mission is to connect our guests with amazing animals from all over the planet and we’re happy to make it easy for foster children to make those connections.
Local Organization Support
SeaQuest strives to be a pillar in our community. We regularly donate memberships, day passes and more to local schools, churches, nonprofit organizations and a variety of other fundraising efforts. In Utah, we are proud donors to the Ronald McDonald House, After School All-Stars, Toys for Tots, YMCA, Make-A-Wish Foundation, United States Veterans, Westcare Women and Children Shelter, Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, Clark County School District and many more.
SeaQuest was proud to join 98.5 KLUC in rewarding literacy in Las Vegas at their annual Reading Rocks event! Reading Rocks challenges Las Vegas students to read extra books or magazines for fun and earn prizes for doing so. Thousands of Clark County 3rd-5th grade students participated in the event for the chance to win amazing prizes from a wide variety of local Las Vegas sponsors. As one of those sponsors, SeaQuest provided special certificates of achievement which included a FREE child’s admission ticket to each participating student as a reward for taking part in the challenge and reading more than ever in their spare time.
